Fully automated in-situ tests for PEM MEAs

For the layer development, the final performance test in fuel cell operation under individually configurable in-situ conditions is essential. Any manufactured CCM or MEA allows conclusions to be drawn about the selected material and manufacturing parameters if it is also extensively tested in-situ. For this purpose, the EK department has four identical single cell test benches with extensive integrated measuring methods and continuously developed test protocols.

Fully automated in-situ tests for PEM MEAs:

  • In-situ tests for PEM MEAs in fully automated single-cell test benches up to 120 A
  • Running-in, activation, performance and sensitivity, ageing behaviour
  • Performance tests under various operating conditions
  • Test protocols individually programmable (e.g. commissioning, accelerated ageing)
  • EIS / CV / HFR / H2 permeation measurements fully automated
