Hydrogen congress: Hy.Summit.Rhein.Ruhr 2024

The Rhine-Ruhr region has set itself the goal of making its production climate-neutral through the use of green hydrogen and thus securing its competitiveness for the future. We will of course be attending the three-day Hy.Summit.Rhein.Ruhr 2024.

Distinguished guests at the Hy.Summit.Rhein.Ruhr 2024: a Vice-Chancellor, a State Minister for Economic Affairs, various business leaders, and bright minds from academia. As the organiser, Hy.Region.Rhein.Ruhr e.V. is once again leaving nothing to chance. And we’ll be mingling with the crowd as well.

The Hy.Region association regularly organises events that provide important impetus for the hydrogen economy. The preliminary highlight is the Hy.Summit.Rhein.Ruhr, taking place from 16 to 18 September 2024 in Duisburg, Dortmund, and Essen. This congress offers leading figures from business, science, politics, and administration a platform to discuss key topics such as infrastructure expansion, increasing domestic electrolysis capacities, and import strategies for green hydrogen.

The three-day Hy.Summit begins on 16 September with a Rhine cruise on the MS RheinGalaxie to key sites of transformation. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Vice-Chancellor Dr Robert Habeck, NRW Minister for Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur, Bernhard Osburg (thyssenkrupp Steel), Markus Bangen (duisport), and Dr Andreas Reichel (Iqony) will provide industrial policy insights.

The second day of the summit in Dortmund will focus on economic aspects. Among others, Dr Werner Ponikwar (thyssenkrupp nucera), Dr Sopna Sury (RWE), Dr Thomas Gößmann (thyssengas), and Prof. Dr Achim Truger (German Council of Economic Experts) will discuss current hydrogen trends and their economic implications.

On the third day, 18 September, the congress will continue at the lecture hall centre of the University of Essen. Here, experts from academia will meet to discuss the theory and technology of transformation and present the latest scientific findings.

You can meet representatives from ZBT on all three days.
