In order to keep our work in line with the latest technical developments and framework conditions, ZBT regularly organises exciting events.

These provide an opportunity to discuss different perspectives on problems and solutions and to expand your own network in the field of hydrogen. This ensures that our solutions meet the actual needs of industry and that our innovation partners remain informed about the current status of our research work.

ZBT Hydrogen Days – The technology forum for business and science

The first edition of the ZBT Hydrogen Days took place at the beginning of 2025. The response was encouragingly large for a premiere, and the feedback afterwards was extremely positive. This makes us confident that the second edition will also be a success.

So make a note in your diary now: on the 18 and 19 February 2026, researchers and developers will meet again in the hydrogen hotspot of Duisburg for the ZBT Hydrogen Days, the new technology forum for hydrogen technologies such as fuel cells, electrolysis, infrastructure and hydrogen derivatives.

Hydrogen Energy Symposium – the ZBT Research School invites you

Are you completely immersed in research into hydrogen technologies? Then the Hydrogen Energy Symposium in Duisburg, Germany is the place for you! Every autumn, the ZBT Research School invites you to take a deep dive into hydrogen research.

The topics include:

Functional materials and electrochemical systems
Hydrogen storage, transportation, safety and regulations
Fuel cells and electrolysers
Hydrogen applications in transportation, industry and energy systems

HeavyDuty Congress – Symposium for Hydrogen-based Mobility

The decarbonisation of heavy goods transport is a key element of the energy transition. Establishing a functioning hydrogen mobility system requires close cooperation between vehicle development, component and system technology, infrastructure, and political and economic framework conditions.

At the annual HeavyDuty Congress in Duisburg, Germany, experts meet to learn about and discuss fuel cell and other hydrogen drives in road and rail freight transport, construction machinery, refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers and buses.

ZBT at conferences and trade fairs

Transferring new knowledge to relevant target groups is important to us. That is why our scientists are listed as speakers on the programmes of many events.

We are also represented as exhibitors at several major industry events such as the Hannover Messe, the Hydrogen Technology World Expo in Hamburg and hy-fcell in Stuttgart, where we present excerpts from our work.

So there are many opportunities to get in touch with us.

Research

The ZBT – the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Center in Duisburg conducts application-oriented research on hydrogen-related topics, thus building a bridge between fundamental research and industry.

Projects
